30 Day Singer is a newer addition to the field of online singing courses.
And it’s an interesting one. It does things differently, which is refreshing, given how similar most of the other course are.
Instead of having a single instructor teach each lesson, 30 Day Singer has multiple vocal coaches teaching the same course. Each teaches in their own style, using their preferred methods.
This lets you choose the coach you gel with best.
In fact, everything about the course’s structure is great.
On the other hand, I do not like the subscription based payment system. We’ll get into that below.
So is this program worth getting?
We’ll take a closer look in our 30 Day Singer review and help you figure out whether this is the best online singing course for you, or if you’d be better off with one of the alternatives.

Who Is It Not For?
- It’s not for those who expect to become great singers in just 30 days
- Singers focused on a specific style might be better off with a more targeted course
For now, there’s more of a focus on beginner courses, with the advanced lessons targeting a single technique each, while the beginner’s lessons are full courses.
Each of these courses cover the essential techniques to become a great singer, but they tackle them is a slightly different way, depending on the instructor’s style. This way you can choose the instructor you feel most comfortable with.
Who Are The Instructors?
Taking a closer look at the beginner’s course, we can see that there are three vocal coaches to choose from. Each of the instructors tackles the material in a different manner and will teach you how to sing in their own way.
Most of the beginning instructors also teach some of the advanced lessons and tips and tricks. There is also a fourth coach who only does advanced classes.
Camille Van Niekerk
First we have Camille van Niekerk from California. She is not only an experienced tutor and a teacher, but also has years of experience performing musicals. This is a unique kind of performance that requires a specific set of skills. So if these are the things that you’re interested in, Camille has a lot to teach you.
Jonathan Estabrooks
The second coach is a magnificent baritone singer named Jonathan Estabrooks. Jonathan honed his craft at the legendary Juilliard School. Although an opera singer, he’s very experienced in multiple genres and singing styles.
He has also shared his experience with many of his followers on YouTube, social media, and major television stations. There’s a lot you can learn from him.
Jon Statham
The third coach is Jon Statham from Nashville, Tennessee. He has spent years doing studio sessions, writing his original music, and performing as a vocalist.
He’s also a guitarist and his lessons focus on singing while playing the guitar. If you plan on singing with an instrument (and especially if it’s the guitar), Jon’s lessons are perfect. They tackle the same beginning material as the other instructors, but do so from the perspective of a singer who also plays an instrument, covering the unique challenges this entails.
Reagan James
While the other three instructors each teach a beginner’s course, Reagan James only teaches advanced techniques. She is well-known for her participation in “The Voice” and has a unique style of singing. She can help more experienced musicians fine-tune their voice and develop their own signature style.
30 Day Singer Philosophy
The idea of this course is to give an all-round program that will fill in all the blanks and create complete singers for almost any style of music.
Although the name of the course is a bit of a selling point, you can’t expect to learn everything in 30 days. But you will become a much better singer in 30 days, and that is the reason for the name.
Having multiple instructors teach the same basic materials allows you to choose whichever coach is the best fit for you. This gives you much more flexibility than most courses that are taught by a single vocal coach.
30 Day Singer Content
30 Day Singer goes far beyond just the basic techniques and principles in its beginner courses. You also learn about music theory and how to apply it in your singing.
The beginning courses are rounded out by shorter advanced lessons and various tips, techniques and exercises. Let’s take a look at each section of the program.
Beginner’s Courses
There are three different beginner’s course. They all cover basically the same material, but they are taught by different instructors, who each bring their own style and methods to the training. You can choose the one who is the best fit for you.
One of the coaches is female, one is male and one teaches beginning singing with a guitar. Most male singers will probably go with the male instructor, while female singers will go with the female instructor. If you want to sing while playing an instrument, the instructor who teaches singing with the guitar is likely the best choice for you.
Here are the specific topics included in the beginning courses:
- Vocal warm-up technique
- Healthy vocal technique, posture, and breathing
- Vocal anatomy
- Applying warm-ups to song work
- Cord compression
- Chest voice, head voice, and mix voice
- Stretching your range
- Tone, growth, and dynamics
- Belting, falsetto, vibrato, and vocal fry
- Runs, turns, falls
- Song analysis
- Phrasing and style
- Performance, confidence, and nerves
The course on singing while playing the guitar is a little different and includes:
- Finding your vocal range
- Major and minor scales, triads, relative minors
- Singing and strumming rhythms
- Song training, with a “share my voice” feature with pop artists
- Smoothing out the break in your voice
- Complexity in scales and scale degrees
- Adding vibrato to song performance
- Arpeggios and swing rhythms
- Steps/leaps, accuracy, and fluidity
- Tritones and major sevenths
- Pentatonic and blues scales
Advanced Techniques
These lessons are targeted at intermediate level students. Once you reach this level, there is no more need for a comprehensive course. Rather, you need specific lessons targeted at improving a single aspect.
And that is what you get here. Each advanced “course” consists of 5 to 6 lessons and targets a specific . They include:
- How to Sing Like a Pop Star
- Runs and Embellishments
- Perform Like a Pro
- Singing Styles of Your Favorite Male/Female Artists
- Classical Singing (i.e. “Choral” music)
Singing Tricks And Techniques
This section covers short tips and specific techniques to help you improve a single aspect of your singing. It included the following lessons:
- Key to Perfect Pitch and Intonation
- Steps to Better Phrasing
- Mastering Vibrato
- Getting Better Tone
- Healthy and Strong Belting
- Finding Your Breath
- Intro to Harmonizing
Warm-Ups And Vocal Health
This section is similar to the previous, except it focuses specifically on warm-up techniques. These include:
- Advanced Warm-Ups
- Beginner Warm-Ups
- Performance Warm-Ups
- Daily Warm-Ups
Bonuses
The bonus sections include a community forum, where you can interact with other students and also get feedback from instructors. You also have the option to pay extra for one-on-one lessons with an instructor. These can be invaluable, if you have a specific issue you need to work on and you need some direct, live feedback and instruction.
What We Love About 30 Day Singer
What we really liked about this program is the different options. Instead of having only one instructor for each lesson, you have 3 beginner’s courses to choose from. Each covers the same basic material, but does so differently, because each is taught by a different instructor.
This allows you to choose the instructor who best fits your learning style. Or you can take all 3 courses and get the best of each coach.
The “tricks and techniques” section is also great, because each lessons focuses on a specific topic, so you can quickly get some help in one specific aspect of your singing. The advanced section is similar, but it focuses on more advance topics (imagine that).
Finally, the 14-day free trial is a great idea, because it gives you plenty of time to get in there and check out the course. And if 14 days is not enough time, the full-course comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, so you can basically check it out for 30 full days for free, if you need to.
What We Didn’t Like About 30 Day Singer
I HATE subscription models and that is the main reason I ranked this course below some of the others. If you don’t have as big a problem with a monthly payment, then it is an excellent course.
And I do understand the reasoning behind the subscription model. They will continue to add lessons, so you get additional benefit by paying for the course month after month.
But for now, because it is a newer course, they have not been adding new lessons regularly. Obviously this will change. The people behind this course are the same people behind Guitar Tricks, which uses a similar subscription model and has grown to include many thousands of lessons.
Nevertheless, I prefer to pay a much larger amount one time, and not have to worry about continuously having money taken out of my account.
And I do realize it is not that much, especially when compared to the cost of singing lessons. A whole year of 30 Day Singer costs less that a single singing class with a top instructor.
Plus, you can get through the materials currently in the course in under 2 months, so if you work hard during that time, you can end up making only 2 monthly payments, which is incredibly low for a course of this caliber. Of course, you would then miss out on any updates, though.
Apart from the subscription-bases payment system, there’s not much we didn’t like here. At first glance, the name put us off. No one will become a great singer in 30 days, so it seemed like marketing hype at first.
But once we checked it out, we realized they meant you will see huge improvements after going through their 30-day basic course. Knowing that, the name is fine.
The only other issue we found if the lack of any downloadable materials. This is probably another issue that many won’t care about, but I personally like having workbooks to help me solidify what I learned and a also like having pdf files I can print out and use later, without needing to be near a computer, or on my phone.
30 Day Singer Vs. Singorama
When it comes to courses with a one-time payment, the name that pops up the most is Singorama. The reason for that is likely the low price, compared to the competition.
But there’s a reason for the low price. Singorama is audio only. No videos.
If you are fine with that, Singorama is an excellent comprehensive course, especially considering the price.
Check out our full Signorama review for more.
If you prefer video lessons, Singorama is not right for you. It may also be wrong for many male singers, since the instructor is pop-singer Melanie Alexander. Males usually prefer learning from a male instructor, while females prefer learning from a female instructor, but having a coach of the opposite works fine too. It’s just a matter of personal preference.
If you’re looking for a course with a one-time payment that has video lessons, try the Roger Love Singing Academy. Our complete review has more.

30 Day Singer Review: Summary And Recommendation
30 Day Singer is a great program that has some big advantages over other courses.
I love the idea of having multiple instructors teach a beginner’s course, because I know the style and methods of an instructor can make a huge difference and it is definitely not a “one size fits all” situation.
I also love the way all of the instructors mix music theory into their lessons for a much more comprehensive beginners course than most of what is out there. Vocal coaches generally leave music theory out of their beginning singing courses, but I think there is a lot of value in learning the theory behind what we do.
Of course, I have to once again mention the subscription model. I’ve already talked about it enough, so I’ll just summarize it in 3 words: I hate it.
If you don’t mind it as much as I do, this is easily one of the top 3 online singing courses. It is new and it will continue to grow, with new lessons being added to the already strong base.
But I have to dock some points for the subscription thing. I can’t help it. That is why it gets a Musicaroo rating of 4.7 out of 5.
