Good men are hard to find, right?
I know it’s a cliche. But it’s a cliche for a reason.
Any woman or gay man who has suffered through one bad relationship after another can relate.
And sadly, that probably most of us!
But there are good men out there. It’s just not all that easy to find them.
That’s why so many singers have penned songs about a good man.
They either hope to find one, have found one and are grateful, or they are themselves a man with shortcomings, hoping to become a better man for the people in his life. All three situations are covered in the songs about great men below.

Good Man by Ne Yo
In Good Man, Ne Yo sings about being faithful, devoted, and a good man to his woman. Many women dream of having such a man in their lives. Many of Ne Yo’s female fans even want this song played at their weddings.

Good Man by Raphael Saadiq
Raphael Saadiq is an American singer and songwriter who wrote Good Man for his 2011 album Stone Rollin’. The singer expresses the struggle of wanting to be a good man for the woman he loves
Unfortunately, he is surrounded by circumstances that drag him down (bad friends, a poor lifestyle, and an illegal job). However, underneath it all, he believes he is still a good man. To make matters worse, his girlfriend cheats on him, which further makes him question his goodness.
A Good Man by Emerson Drive
Canadian country music band Emerson Drive wrote and performed A Good Man for their 2006 album of the same name. The lyrics talk about the singer doing everything to be a good man.
He works hard and dreams of making a lot of money, but he realizes that kindness, love, and helping others are what people will remember most after he passes away. Of course, this is something most never realize, as evidenced by how many more songs about money exist, than songs about any of those virtues.

Better Man by Pearl Jam
Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam wrote Better Man in his teens and performed it with his previous band on the radio. Later, the song was included in Pearl Jam’s 1994 album Vitalogy.
Eddie was inspired to write this song based on his mother, who settled for a mediocre man after his biological father passed away. She would say that she could not find a better man than the one she had chosen and had to settle for whatever she got. Eddie believed she did so just to get support for the family, not thinking of her own happiness.
