Are you struggling to find the perfect present for the music lover in your life?
Struggle no more!
Here is a list of music themed gifts for people who like music. Even if none of them are quite right for your particular music lover, they are sure to at least help you brainstorm some additional gift ideas.
I’ve tried to include ideas that make great gifts for birthdays, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Weddings, Anniversaries and any other occasion. We also included music related gifts in all price ranges.
Great Gift Ideas For Music Lovers
Some Vintage Record Coasters
These cool-looking coasters are made from upcycled vinyl LP records. The original labels are kept intact, which is what sets these coasters apart from other similar products.
They are made in the US and each set of 6 includes a variety of genres, bands, musicians and colors. You also get a clear case. The coasters themselves are covered with with a clear mylar seal to protect them from moisture. They are 4 inches in diameter.
My one complaint would be that you can’t choose the labels on your coasters. I completely understand that isn’t really feasible, but I can’t help wishing I could have exactly the albums I want (mainly my favorites from my childhood). Still, these coasters make for a really cool present. And, in a way, not knowing exactly what you’ll find when the giftee unwraps their present makes it a nice surprise for the gifter as well.
Vibes Acoustic Filter Earplug For Concerts and Clubs
You may recognize the Vibes Acoustic Filter Earplugs from the TV show Shark Tank. They were a huge hit on the show and have been selling well since making them one of the most popular gifts for music lovers.
Vibes plugs lower the sound volume to protect your hearing, without muffling the sound like regular earplugs. You still enjoy the clean and clear sound of the music and you can carry on conversations as you could without the plugs in your ears.
The best part is how comfortable they are. The soft ear tips rest perfectly in the ear canal and you’ll soon forget you’re wearing them at all, even if you keep them in all day for a music festival. And since the outer tube is clear, no one else will notice you’re wearing them either.
These plugs come with a number of differently sized tips, so they’ll fit any ear. They also come with a hard pocket-sized carrying case. Vibes plugs are one of the best music gift ideas, especially because they’re inexpensive and give the owner so much value (i.e. intact hearing).
A Wireless Music Streamer Like The Audiocast M5
The Audiocast M5 is a wireless multi-room and multi-channel audio streaming device. It plugs into any speaker and allows you to stream music using WIFI.
Once it is set up, you can just use your smart phone, tablet, laptops or other device to send your favorite songs to whichever room you want. You can play the same song in every room or you can have a different song playing in each room.
The M5 sounds great, no matter the distance from the unit to the speaker (assuming you don’t live in a gigantic mansion) and it is compatible with a number of protocols and apps, like Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio, etc. It makes for one of the best Christmas gifts for music lovers.
A Ticket Shadow Box
Do you know someone who goes to a lot of concerts and shows?
Do they save their tickets as a memento?
Then this shadow box for tickets is the perfect gift. The slot on the top allows you to simply drop your tickets into the shadow box, so you can see them any time you want. They stay preserved inside the box, but are still visible through the glass window on the front.
Hooks on the back make it easy to hang on the wall so can show your collection off as well as looking at it yourself to bring back fond memories of past shows. It can also stand up on its end if you prefer to keep in on a shelf. It definitely belongs on any list of gifts for people who love music.
A Turntable Like The U-Turn Audio Orbit Plus
You can find cheaper record players than the U-Turn Audio Orbit Plus, but they won’t sound nearly as good. Nevertheless, if you don’t mind sacrificing a little sound quality for a huge drop in price, check out the Jensen JTA-230 for a good tabletop option or the 1byone suitcase-style turntable for a more portable option.
The reason we recommend the U-Turn record player is that it is the only budget player that is well-constructed and delivers professional level sound quality. Sure it costs more than the cheapest players, but it costs far less that a high quality player and it actually comes close to those in terms of sound quality. It also just looks cool!
If you already have a receiver, you can save a large chunk of money by getting a version of the Orbit Plus that does not have a built-in preamp. There’s no need to pay for that feature, if you’re just going to plug into a receiver that already has a phono preamp.
An Upholstered Ottoman with A Bluetooth Speaker Inside
This is a pretty specialized gift for someone who needs both an ottoman and a bluetooth speaker, though only if they are fine with a not-very-portable bluetooth speaker. But for that person, this bluetooth ottoman speaker is a great musical-themed gift.
You get a quality speaker that does not take up any additional space. As an ottoman, it is comfortable and comes in a number of colors, so you should be able to find something that matches the existing decor. If not, there are a couple of other brands that come in varying styles.
This ottoman speaker measures 17 by 17 by 18 inches and comes with a 3.5 mm cord and a power adapter. The cord allows you to plug it directly into the audio source, if you do not want to use bluetooth.
An Album Frame Like This One From Americanflat
If you know someone who collects albums and treats the covers as precious artwork, then this gift is perfect. It’s a frame for your albums by Americanflat that allows you to both protect them and display them at once.
The frame itself is made of sturdy aluminum, ensuring it will last as long as your album (and longer than you, me or anyone else). The front is made from Plexiglas and the back has easy-open tabs so you can get at the album quickly and with no hassle.
It comes with hanging hardware, making it easy to mount on your wall. It ships in exclusive proprietary packaging developed by Americanflat specifically for their picture and album frames. The packaging ensures everything arrives in perfect condition.
A Retro-Mixtape-Design Flash Drive Like The Original Mashtape
Do you miss the mixtape?
Do you know it would make the perfect gift for your music lover boyfriend or girlfriend, except for one small problem: he or she doesn’t have a cassette deck?
That’s a problem no more!
This USB flash drive looks just like an old-school cassette tape, but its function is completely modern. It holds 8 GB of digital data, which means you can actually put far more songs on it than you could ever fit onto any cassette tape. Around 2000 of them. You can also store other types of files like videos, photos or important documents. Plus, no rewinding!
It comes with a plastic cassette case and works on Windows, Mac or LINUX operating systems. It makes a great gift for Christmas, a birthday, mothers day, fathers day, valentines day or just when you feel like doing something nice for someone special.
A Vinyl Record Wall Clock
This wall clock is made from a recycled vinyl record and makes a great present for any occasion. It can hang in the living room, bedroom, kitchen, office, study room, nursery or even the bathroom, thanks to the choice of 16 different styles.
If you contact the manufacturer, they can even create a custom clock for you, which makes for one of the best personalized gifts for music lovers. They also have a number of other listings on Amazon with even more styles available.
As for the clock itself, it runs silent and requires a single AA battery, which is even included with your purchase (because we all hate getting a gift that requires a battery, but not getting the battery to run it).
A Wireless Bluetooth Speaker Like The UE Roll 2 Volcano
Portable wireless Bluetooth speakers are one of the best inventions in recent times. I love being able to have my favorite songs on my phone and being able to play them through a small set of speakers, without any cable, and still get great sound quality.
There are so many different models available and a number of them are excellent. So why am I recommending the UE Roll 2 Volcano?
Because I just got one myself a few days ago, that’s why. And I love it!
It is small (5.3 inches or 13.5 cm in diameter) and weighs very little (11.7 ounces or 330 grams). Despite the size, it sounds great and, more importantly, it’s waterproof. I’m one of those people that loves to listen to music in the shower or bathtub, which is why I got this speaker in the first place.
UE even include a flotation device that allows you to have the speaker with you in a lake or pool (admittedly, I’ve only used it in the bathtub so far, but it worked great there). They promise around 9 hours of battery life, but I’ve actually been getting quite a bit more than that. I think it’s because I keep the volume fairly low. You can also get two of these speakers and use them together to get a stereo sound.
This is just a fun little gift that you’ll find yourself constantly playing with absentmindedly. The Music Notes Magnetic Sculpture Block by Minya is basically a magnet and a bunch of little metallic musical notes and symbols.
The notes and symbols stick to the magnet and can be arranged in all kinds of patterns. If you’ve ever played around with one of these magnetic blocks, you’ll know how addictive it can be.
This is a really unique gift for music lovers, but naturally, it is also available with all kinds of different elements that are not music related. On this site, we only care about the musical version, but I just wanted to mention that other options are available.
